More boards. Row count: 22 of 35. I now had a well-established process to do this. Some of the pieces had to be cut to size, so the going was slow despite the process :)
Hi Dhar, We see the deck floor is getting placed...congrats on this milestone! Just curious, what woods do they recommend in PA for deck floors?. In North Carolina pressure-treated pine is used commonly (or mahogany or fir) and in fact some folks use the more expensive composite wood (polymer+wood particulates) for less maintainence. Another thing they would recommend is pressure treated wood which is also to prevent termite attacks..a big deal in the Carolinas. Termites incidently.. can't digest the tougher pressure treated woods.. Cheers.. Urban
Good job, fine planning and excellent execution. As good as professional output. Time-frame is also reasonable or rather before target date - may be!. I think innovative/creative additions could be possible- like some seating benches along the periphery, umbrella staffs in position at a few places or provision for the same etc can be thought of! What is the cost factor? 50% saving?- VNatarajan,Chennai,India
Urb: Local building code dictates that we use pressure treated (PT) wood for load bearing members. So, I used ACQ PT Pine lumber for the posts, ledger, girder and joists.
ACQ PT wood is supposed to resist rot, termites and such :)
Usually, people here use composite wood only for the decking (floor boards).
Cost savings are at least 66%. I have to update my budget sheet, but including capital investment such as tools, and future costs such as vinyl pre-made railings (to be done early next spring), the deck will cost around $2500. A 16'x20' deck with composite wood flooring was priced by a local contractor at anywhere from $7500 to $9000 :)
In the Ancient time Carpets were generally used for table and wall coverings. They were later invented for as a floor covering. carpets were generally Known as accentuate for the theme of a room and just a carpet can be hand-knotted, tufted, and machine made or felt wool.
